MEMBER NEWS

Spring 2007

Dear World Trade Center Member,

It is my great pleasure to introduce the WTC Director of Sponsorship, Melissa Martin. Melissa began May 14th and her enthusiasm and energy are already making an enormous contribution to the World Trade Center. In addition to leading our sponsorship efforts, Melissa will also organize education and member events and be the liaison to the WTC Board of Governors.

Melissa joins us from the healthcare industry bringing with her a background in hospitality, professional outreach and event planning. Melissa served as President of the Health Care Provider's Council of Pierce County for six years, Gig Harbor Chamber Board member for three years, and was a recipient of the President's Choice Award in 2000.

Please stop by and say hello to Melissa at our upcoming Member Reception on July 25th.

Warm regards,

John Oppenheimer

Nonprofit Tenant Profile

C’est La Vie Foundation
Working to build socially responsible and compassionate communities.

Dolores Gill has dedicated her life to philanthropy. Volunteering since the young age of 16, Dolores, has worked and served on the boards of many local charities, especially ones that support local youth, such as Childhaven, YWCA, and FOY.

A world-traveler, Dolores has visited numerous countries and been witness to diverse examples of human behavior over the years. Pairing her interest in helping people with her deep concern for human behavior and social responsibility, Dolores formed the C’est La Vie Foundation. Its advisory board is made up of women and men around the globe and the board of directors is made up of local Northwest citizens.

One of C’est La Vie’s missions is to help communities develop approaches to human awareness and social responsibility with regard to the issue of AIDS. By improving educational and medical awareness, C’est La Vie’s hope is to reduce the spreading of AIDS through sexual assault and the aftermath of medical issues that a victim suffers socially, psychologically, and physically.

Focusing on the global aspects of educational activities that promote responsible behavior, C’est La Vie supports community-based initiatives that involve children, teens, and adults. C’est La Vie’s work in the USA is funded through sales of Dirty Dog™ Jeans, an exciting line of jeans and urban rugged wear for men and women sold throughout the world. And another percentage of sales stay in the country of sale, funding similar efforts and awareness efforts of the foundation in those communities. Dirty Dog™ Jeans was also founded by Dolores Gill.
